Denise and her team have enabled us to be away from the dogs without worry - including an extended two week trip. • We have a very large Newfie named Gus who can’t be left with just anyone! He requires a lot of attention and care. He is also 172 pounds, so a whole lot of dog! When I went back to work part-time, I needed someone to visit Gus 2 times a day for walks and play-time. Denise and her team were on it! They showed up on time, gave me a report on how Gus was doing, and even sent pictures and videos. They absolutely love dogs, and it showed in the extent to which they engaged Gus in play and always made sure he had plenty of food and water. I did not need to worry a bit! 

We also love to travel, and we leave Gus with one of the SV Watch Dogs caregivers, Fox. She is AMAZING! Gus loves her so much. She even sleeps with the dogs to keep them company! She takes the dogs out for walks and playtime several times a day. She sends pictures and videos, and her pictures are unbelievable as she is an amazing photographer. What I love about Gus staying with Fox is not only the love and attention to detail she provides in caring for him but that she also has other dogs there for day care or overnights so that Gus is getting socialized with other dogs. Being awesome yourself is one thing, a great thing, but I am truly impressed with how Denise has met requests from her growing client base by bringing on just the right people to ensure delivery of the same outstanding quality service she provides. This team Denise has carefully built is a huge asset because together they bring flexibility to meeting client needs with coverage that is thought out and fine tuned. 

In sum, Denise and her crew are very responsible, conscientious, upbeat, accommodating and reliable— they keep in excellent touch when you’re away, sending pictures and updates as often as you wish. We didn’t ever think we would be able to go on vacation without our dogs but they have made us so comfortable with leaving. Denise and team were very kind to us by coming to our home and chatting with us about our upcoming trip. "I cannot say enough great things about Denise. I have now used Denise twice and can honestly say that she is simply the best!

Denise stayed with my 3 year-old lab Luke for a week at our house, and did an amazing job taking care of him. She sent daily updates on Luke and pics of him playing and walking outside. I felt completely at ease knowing that my dog was taking care of and my home was looked after.

Most recently Denise took care of Luke and my Girls (4 chickens) in the mornings while I was out of the country. Every morning she would feed Luke, play with him and take him on a walk. She also fed my girls and gave them fresh water. I would get short videos every day of Luke and the girls. I told Denise that getting these videos 'made my day' as I was missing them being so far away.

"I'm so thankful to have found Denise to watch my 2 dogs.

We had not traveled during Covid and this was our first trip in 2 years and in the past only used our dog breeder to watch our dogs, but that's at her home with lots of other dogs.

We had never used an at home over night dog sitter but one of our dogs developed epilepsy so we wanted her cared for in our home with someone who was comfortable dispensing medication 2x a day for seizures.

We felt very secure leaving our precious cargo with Denise and she gave us regular updates during our trip.

We are two of Denise O’Brien’s earlier clients from about 3-4 years ago, and our lab-mix, Molly, has had a BFF with Denise’s daughter, Brittany. Brittany lives in our home and we travel with complete confidence and relief that Brittany follows all of our guidelines while we are away.  Molly gets all of her walks and extras, stays on her diet, and the many photos we receive show lots of playtime and snuggle time.  

During hot weather, Brittany adapts the walking schedule and graciously keeps my potted plants watered and thriving.  Newspapers, packages, mail all get retrieved in timely fashion and upon return, we find our home tidy.

"We were so lucky to find Denise to take care of our dog Sammy. She made us feel so comfortable by visiting with us a few weeks before our 8-day trip, so that Sammy could get to know her (he is quite an anxious dog!). While we were away, she sent us tons of pictures and videos every single day, and we could tell that Sammy absolutely loved her and was having a great time! Denise kept us very updated, which was so appreciated (we are very anxious owners as well!). "We are happy to recommend Denise and team for dog sitting/pet sitting/house sitting.  She has done all of these things for us over the years.  We have had her stay at our home while we are on short and longer vacations to care for Patrick the parakeet, Marvin and Big Eye the fish, Jimmy the bearded dragon, and most recently, our new boxer puppy, Simon.  We have had quite a zoo! We have also had her come just for the day if we are going to be gone for several hours and Simon needs to be fed and walked in our absence.  Denise is great with all of the pets, and so loving and kind with Simon. He loves the long walks they take and how she encourages him to find his 'stick of the day'.  She is great about following the routines and house rules we have established for our pets as well.   We have not returned to have to retrain or break habits formed while we are away which has been a big PLUS!  She is willing to take care of all aspects of the house  (bringing in mail and packages, taking the garbage toters in/out to the curb, watering plants, etc).  Of course the most important thing is always the safety and happiness of our pets and Denise is great about making sure they are well cared for and entertained, whether that be active as in the case of Simon, or just making sure the cages and habitats are clean and have fresh water and food as in the case of our fish, bird, and bearded dragon.   We also appreciate getting text updates and short videos and photos of our pets while we are away as that always settles any nerves we have about leaving them.  The house is always neat and tidy when we return and Simon is always in great form and happy.  Can't ask for more!"

"We had a family trip planned to celebrate our Parents’s 50th wedding anniversary when I found out in January that our regular sitter would not be able to board our boys Gussie ( 9 + year old Cattledog/ border collie rescue and Bailey ( 2.5 year old black lab ) !  This started a long process of meeting new  petsitters and left me very discouraged ! Since we have a low energy senior dog and a high energy 2 year old dog ; we couldn’t find anybody who seemed like a good fit for both of them at the same time ! To be honest , I was ready to cancel my trip rather than settle for just anybody to watch my boys ! That’s when Denise and her team at Silicon Valley Watchdogs  were recommended to us ! We had never considered having anyone live at home in our absence and as can be expected had some misgivings ! All of those were put to rest when we met Denise and Brittany for a meet and greet ! Denise walked in and immediately started taking notes . It was simple things like which dog’s bowl is on the right side while feeding and whose is on the left ? It was her attention to details with respect to small things like that which convinced us to try her team out for our trip ! She stayed in touch with us and gave us a great idea on what we can expect! Denise was extremely punctual on the day of our departure and understood my nervousness ! She went over all our written instructions and took notes once again ! We discussed how often she would stay in touch with me during our trip ( to send pictures and updates ).  I can honestly say that after the first 24 hours I forgot that I’d left the boys with her for the first time ever . Her updates were always uplifting , fun and the picture showed me that they both were doing well . She stayed later than the agreed upon time on the day of our arrival became it was taking longer than expected to clear immigration. We walked in to an absolutely clean house and some special goodies waiting for us ! Denise had left us flowers and a wonderful note welcoming us home ! She also had some treats for the boys ! Since she had stayed at our place for a week , she left us notes to let us know our sheets and towels were are clean ( saving me a load of laundry). Based on my experience with Denise and her team , I would highly recommend them and their services ! Having someone live at our home and care for our dog boys helped our family have the trip of a lifetime and make wonderful memories with our extended family !
