Denise grew up in Silicon Valley and has been a pet lover since childhood. As a child in San Jose she raised chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits in her family's backyard. Her contractor dad created homemade cages for each of her menageries. Indoors, she was also responsible for multiple hamsters over the years and has fond memories of their many escapes inside her family’s home.
In first grade, Denise graduated to caring for her family Golden Retriever rescue, Mikamu, and a second Golden rescue, Fosbury, alongside her three younger siblings as the O'Brien family grew. In the 70s, you could see their Golden Retrievers running alongside with Denise each morning as she biked along her San Jose Mercury News paper route.
Decades later while raising her three children in Southern California (now known as Silicon Beach), she of course chose to bring another Golden Retriever into the family, Sierra. As Denise welcomed her children into her family, Sierra also welcomed six puppies.
Denise has decades of pet and house sitting experience, local references from over 450 sitting client families, and a TRUE LOVE for dogs!!
Due to client demand in Silicon Valley & Silicon Beach, Denise has inspired her children, mother, family and friends to join her capable and always-in-demand Silicon Valley Watch Dogs Team, with her son, Evan, creating the SVWatchDogs website!
Brennan grew up in Los Angeles and has cared for all kinds of pets since she was young. When she was born, her family already owned a loving 14 year-old Golden Retriever named Sierra.
As Brennan grew up, the number of dogs in her home only increased. Brennan was raised in a family who fostered anywhere from 2-10 dogs at once, mostly French Bulldogs and strays from the streets of Los Angeles. From a young age she learned to take delicate care of dogs with a variety of health conditions and behavioral issues. At one point Brennan lived with ten dogs, one chinchilla, two gerbils, two rats, and one Mediterranean gecko named Chicken Nugget.
In addition to loving her favorite dogs, Butterbean and Possum, Brennan started to care for other people’s pets. She often helped out neighbors and family friends, watching their dogs or cats from time to time, always providing warm and loving care.
The first time Brennan ever lived without a furry friend in her home was when she went to college and found there was something missing. She wanted to fill the animal-shaped hole in her heart, so she started caring for even more pets during her college years, receiving referrals from previous client friends and families to broaden her clientele.
During spring break of her sophomore year of college at Loyola Marymount University, Brennan began working with Silicon Valley Watch Dogs, traveling between Silicon Valley and Silicon Beach. Since then she has worked for SVWD, providing care to over 100+ family pets.
After graduating from college at Boise State University, Brennan returned to SoCal, living full-time in Silicon Beach and managing our SVWD Southern California Branch. She takes her passion and love for all kinds of animals to every pet and family she meets!
